With over 25 years of experience in consulting and strategic sales, Richard Balius brings extensive knowledge, executive coaching and strategy to companies across the United States. He has been a Partner at Intergistic Solutions since 2001, a management consultancy that has helped over 100 privately owned companies to improve their sales processes.

Since 2004, Richard has served as a facilitator for The Alternative Board. In that role, he has helped 70+ private businesses without a board of directors to establish a peer-run board. Currently, he services 17 companies a month ranging in revenue from $5 million to $180 million by conducting 1 x1 private coaching sessions with CEOs and facilitating their board meetings.

He has helped train over 500 sales professionals at companies like Astra Zeneca, J.M. Smuckers, Time Warner, and Myriad Genetic Laboratories as well as many privately held businesses. Richard has worked across various industries including an extensive history in pharmaceuticals. While serving as an interim VP of Sales for a medical products company, he led a sales team covering all 50 states and saw company sales increase by a record-breaking 21% year-over-year.

Richard has extensive marketing experience and is a certified coach in Guerilla Marketing as well as, CJ Hayden’s “Get Clients Now” program. In addition Richard is a certified business coach trained in Strategic Business Leadership, helping company founders and CEOs with employee onboarding, recruitment and sales processes. Richard is certified in UnCommon Sense and has an extensive understanding of other sales methodologies including Miller Heiman, Sandler, and he has also taught his sales methodologies as successful training classes at the University of Texas Professional Development Center and the University of Denver (Daniels College of Business).

Prior to his career in consulting, Richard served was a US Marine and is a Desert Storm war veteran.

Richard and his wife live in Austin, Texas with their son who will soon enter college. Richard has served on the board as the President of Austin’s two largest toastmasters clubs, and currently is a commissioner on the Town and Country Optimist Baseball Board. Richard is passionate about connecting fathers with their sons. In addition to being a commissioner, he is an umpire for the Central Texas Umpire and VP of Operations for the McNeil Baseball Boosters.
